Majid’s Tales

Majid’s Tales is a collection of stories written by Houshang Moradi Kermani, published in five volumes. It recounts the adventures of a talkative yet charming boy who, having lost his parents, lives with his grandmother. The first edition of this work was published in 1974, and later, a television series directed by Kiumars Pourahmad was produced based on it, a series that won the hearts of both children and adults and has now become a nostalgic memory for its viewers.

Majid’s Tales features a simple, warm, and proverb-filled prose, a humorous and delightful style that is characteristic of Moradi Kermani’s writing. Majid is a teenager who loves reading, is interested in cinema and acting, and dreams of becoming a writer. Each story in this collection reflects the living conditions, traditions, and customs of the Iranian people. The author himself has said that “Majid’s Tales is based on real events from my own life.”
