Unveiling of “Human” at Tehran Book Garden

The literary session “Manzumeh” was held on Saturday afternoon, 6 Dey 1404 (December 27, 2025), hosted by Amir Ali Soleimani and attended by Saeed Bayabanki and Ebrahim Esmaili Arazi at the Science Café of Tehran Book Garden.

At the beginning of the program, Mohammad Norouzi Farsangi, the poet of the collection “Human”, welcomed the audience and spoke about the book, saying: “The ghazal collection Human and a play titled ‘Do-Jan’ were both born when I turned forty.” He then recited selected poems from the collection for the audience.

Next, Ebrahim Esmaili Arazi, poet and literary critic, emphasized the importance of having opportunities to critique literary works, stating: “When engaging with literary works, we must set aside personal taste and examine the work from a discursive perspective. Regarding the book’s title, I should say that Human is an apt and well-chosen name for this poetry collection.” Referring to the need for more careful editing, he added: “Some editorial issues require more serious attention, and I hope these shortcomings will be corrected in future editions.”

Esmaili Arazi described the poet of Human as “afflicted with poetry” and said: “Examining the poet’s personal traits shows that he is, in the truest sense, deeply possessed by poetry. For a poet publishing his second collection, this is the time for maturity and the manifestation of accumulated experience.” In another part of his remarks, citing verses from the book, he pointed out certain linguistic and grammatical issues, noting that in some lines, linguistic harmony has not been fully observed and requires revision. At the same time, he considered the poet’s attention to musicality as one of the strengths of the collection, adding: “Inspiration drawn from music in parts of the book has helped make the ghazals flow more smoothly.” He concluded by saying: “A poet’s unconscious usually contributes more to their poetry than conscious intention, and wherever extra-textual attachments become dominant, the poem distances itself from its most delightful moments.”

In another segment of the program, Saeed Bayabanki said: “Norouzi is a poet, presenter, teacher, and a person with many abilities, and these skills—among them his acting talent—have contributed positively to his poetry.” He continued: “Norouzi encourages his students to write, and in this regard, he has published a work titled ‘Small Pen Cases’, which is highly valuable.” Following this, the poets present at the event recited their poems.

At the conclusion of the session, the ghazal collection Human, written by Mohammad Norouzi Farsangi, was officially unveiled. Human is a collection of ghazals published in 1403 (2024–2025) by Nazdiktar Publishing.
